Art and Culture Mondays by Bronte Hogarth
Ever thought you would hear the words plastic, fantastic and eco all in the same sentence?
Aussie Designers Sarah K + Liane Rossler (Liane is also a 1 Million Women Ambassador) will make you reconsider the oddity. They have designed a collection of beautiful and usable transparent tableware called Plastic Fantastic, all made from recycled discarded shopping bags.
- Did you know? Australians use 3.92 billion plastic bags a year, that’s over 10 million new bags being used every day. An estimated 3.76 billion bags or 20,700 tonnes of plastic are disposed of in landfill sites throughout Australia every year.*
Plastic Fantastic is a creative way of stopping plastic bags just ending up in landfill or our oceans. You can even read how to do it yourself here and get going on your own plastic fantastic collection!
