Our motivating home grown photo of the day is from Jane Woodly. She explains,
“I am experimenting to see what grows best in my (terrible!) soil and (limited) sunlight, and the challenge of a west-facing sloping site Not to mention marauding possums and brush turkeys. We started with pretty much just clay but over a couple of years we have been improving it and making it into a terraced no-dig garden, to the point where we now have reasonable beds for veggies. My hope is to inspire and educate my children that food doesn’t just come from a shop, and you can grow it yourself. In the photo are tomatoes, basil, parsley, thyme, marjoram, beans, corn, rocket and mixed soft leaf lettuce, plus marigolds to keep down the nematodes. There’s also a fig tree in the background planted by the previous owner.”
So amazingly inspiring! Thank you so much for playing, Jane!
